Text Box: FOREWORD This document contains Reports on Post Tsunami Reconstruction Process submitted by District Secretaries of Jaffna, Killinochchi, Mullaitivu, Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Ampara, Hambantota, Matara, Galle, Kalutara, Colombo and Gampaha and the district summaries. In comparison of damages among districts, the highest number of deaths was reported in the Ampara District while the lowest was reported in the Gampaha District. With regard to the properties damaged, the highest damage occurred again in Ampara District. The district summary reports have been prepared by the Department of National Planning.
